SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) - In 1934, President Franklin D. Roosevelt passed the National Firearms Act. This was the first time in US history that the government created a gun law. The NFA was a large set of gun laws that regulated many weapons and devices and made it extremely difficult for innocent Americans to obtain SBRs.

 

Any rifle with a barrel less than 16 inches in length or with a total length of shorter than 24 inches is considered a 'short-barreled rifle'. Currently, if you want to build or obtain a short barreled rifle or shotgun, you must give the federal government $200 (this figure was set by FDR in 1934 and at the time was unaffordable for anyone other than FDR's cronies in the large unions) and fill out another form asking the federal government for permission to own this inanimate object. 

 

There are thousands of federal laws that could easily make you into a criminal for owning an inanimate object, including objects that you might have bought simply to decrease the amount of noise your firearm makes.

 

The SBR law may actually result in an anti-gun Democrat being prosecuted for this stunt that she pulled in an effort to give her campaign a boost among radical anti-gun Democrats. In an epic case of irony, she immediately pleaded that the federal government should not enforce gun laws when the laws affect her. Maybe this hypocrite is ready for Congress, after all?
